I have two Nubian/Alpine cross does. They were pregnant already when I bought them last year. They both delivered in February. Shouldn't they be coming back into heat soon? If not, can I bring them in if I borrow a smelly-buck rag from someone?

They should start cycling in late August-early September. If you don't have a buck on the property, they can sometimes be "silent" in heat, so either bringing in a smelly buck or using a buck rag can help you determine when they are ready (and in some cases even make them come into heat).

Load them up and drive them to the stockyards, then bring them home. Works everytime.

My does and buck are not yet showing interest in each other....at all. I have Nubian/Alpine/La Mancha crosses. Buck is not stinky yet. Yet they put on quite a show for the daycare next door starting late August last year. :p Give it a little more time.

My LaMancha hasn't cycled yet, but I believe we're getting close. I agree- it's probably still early for them.
