Hello I'm new here but I'm wondering if any of you have advise for me. This is Lola I was unsure if she was pregnant until two weeks ago when I noticed she had a bag. This will be her second time kidding. The first time she killed her baby so I want to make sure I'm home. She showed no signs the first time she had no bag she had no belly (seems to be the same this time around) the only thing I noticed was the smallest string of mucus a wk before she gave birth. I did the math and I do believe she is going to kid this month. My hubby and I had long time plans to be gone next wk and have someone come to feed our animals. Judging by these pics does she look close? This is only my second time too so I'm not experienced. Thanks!

The only sure fire method i know of, is to feel the pin ligaments.

There are 2 ligaments, one on each side of the tail. They go from the tail to the hip bones and feel like pencils.

The close she gets to kidding, the softer those ligaments.

When it feels like the ligaments have completely disappeared then she will kid in 24 hours of less.

And.... she actively killed the kid? :ep Or just didn't mother it?

Thank you! And She actively killed it. baby tried to suck and she doesnt like her bag touched so she kicked it into the corner. I tried to save baby but it died from her kick. I spent the rest of the season milking her in hopes that she would learn to be ok with it but seems like she is fighting it this year again when I touch her but we will see. I just need to make sure i am home to monitor the situation. fingers crossed she will be better this time around.
