Maybe you should look around for a small milking setup (vacuum pump and unit). It sounds like you could endup swamped later and may want to switch over to the machines.

That's why you should start looking for a reasonably priced used one now. Maybe by the time you really need it you will have found one.

It's going to depend on your area. Take a look at the new ones and decide what you would be willing to pay for a used one from that. Just be glad your looking small. We paid $530 just the used motor on the vacuum pump last fall.
