MY herd is a group of (gobble-de-goops) they love their alfalfa pellets ( horse sized, cut down to size, by hand.) I've had to dole it out, because free choice turned into an inhale - athon. So now they get it in their AM & PM dishes and periodically a hand full each through out the day. So I was just wondering if what I am doing could be harmful to my herd ??

I don't due pellets except for lactating does here. Then, I give them about 1 or 2 cups worth a day (because I use it on the milk stand and then put what is left in the feed trough, I am estimating how much each gets).

It's weird because I read this thread earlier today while searching for alfalfa pellet information... Now I feel like big brother is watching me:lol:
