I was just researching this in our area... in Nova Scotia they are ranging from 60. to 200. each! quite the spread.

Good luck

do you have a stock yard that lists their sale prices on-line? We use New Holland goat Auction prices to help set our prices. Your prices are really low compared to ours.

That is just for an ordinary show wether, bloodlines that come from good quality and can give you a chance at 1st or 2nd place in class, or grand champion are selling for 300 to 1,000.

I'm not in MI (we're 1 hr S. of Ft. Wayne), but I have people come down from there for wethers.

We sell them based on 'quality' and potential. A 50% Boer, 50% Nubian wether typically won't win, but will not disgrace the kid showing it either....we sell those for 75-125$, depending on how 'thick' they are / which parent they take after most.

The higher the %, the more $ they are.

I won't sell a WETHER for over $150.00, that's our max price point for 4-H kids. If I think a male goat we have for sale is worth more than that, I'll keep him a buck and sell as such.

thanks! ours kids are 100% boer. i noticed on another site that a 3/4 boer buckling went for $200 as a wether and $250 as a buckling. kind of goes all over the map, doesn't it? i'm not wanting to squeeze a 4H kid, but i sure don't want to take a loss either. we're pretty new at this, so we have the vet debud them, so that expense will have to be taken into consideration for us as well.
