I've been raising 2 steers per year for 6 years now but my grain supplier is getting too expensive. I'm researching other grain/feed options locally.
What matters to you when choosing a grain? I give them 1/2 scoop each twice per day just to see them up close and help them get a bit tame.
My current feed is called "cow utility" and looks like a loose grain mix with some recognizable corn in there.
The steers primarily eat pasture and supplemental hay.
