We have a herd of pet goats and I need to know how to tag them for hurricane season in case things get really bad. Ear tags are a no go, collars are too dangerous,I really don’t want to have to tattoo anyone and Microchips are really not possible. So, with this quandary, does anyone have ideas? Thanks in advance.

Spray paint. Seriously. Before a hurricane I saw horses in a pasture with telephone numbers spray painted on them. I guess you'd have to paint smaller for a goat, lol!

Great idea! I'm going to remember that one! I could spray paint a Nubian - but it'd be a lot harder for a pygmy, lol!

Ear tattoos are the best and most permanent. I assume you just want to be able to reclaim them right? If they are registered goats ear tattoos are often used. If these are not registered you can tattoo a telephone number in the ear. Otherwise, use spray paint. Make a stencil and hold in on the goat while you spray the paint. Do NOT use water soluble marking paint! LOL
