How to stop getting "alerts" on my email?

I keep getting "alerts" in my email whenever someone posts on a thread I have posted on. I want to receive alerts on BYH's, not my email. I do want to get emails when someone sends me a conversation, and receive site mailings, but not for everything else. How can I change this?

Under preferences - options un-click the box that says "and receive emails..." It's the second box under the options tab there.

I *think* that should fix it.

I'm not ignoring this post...but I would have given the same advice that Banriona gave...I've asked @Nifty to check out this thread

Look for the "Unwatch Thread" link to the top right of the thread:

Then you can re-watch the thread and deselect "and receive emails"

In your preferences you can change the default settings for when you reply to threads (watch them, don't watch them, watch and get emails, etc.)
