We’ve got 2 Pygmy goats which were both castrated about a year old. Recently, the smaller of the two has started to try and hump when he can. And he goes on his back legs and jumps up at us trying to hump.
Is this normal? Or a dominant behaviour as the other goat is more in charge. Or something we can train out of him. Or could possibly he was castrated properly?
many thanks

Humping each other is a dominance thing..

Jumping up at you though?

That is odd... I would work hard at behavior training with him.

But yes, I would check.. does he have a testicle in there?

Humping in goats or other castrated animals is normal. My little guy is castrated and when him and the two does get excited and play it becomes a Hump fest for a few minutes. I'm wondering if you have always let the little goats jump up? If so it time to put a little knee to the chest each time those hooves come off the ground. They learn quickly.
