I've just moved on to a 2.3 ac property that I am turning in to a hobby farm/ranchette with chickens, ducks and eventually goats. We are in a hilly/forested area where there are raccoon, coyotes, bobcats and rarely mountain lions and even more rarely bears.
I am planning on getting a Livestock Guardian Dog, or 2. But I'm thinking I might need something to back them up. But I live in a part of the county that has been designated a "no shoot" zone. I'm trying to find out if there are exceptions to that law, like if a predator is stalking my livestock. But if there are no exceptions, what are my options? Would a pellet gun do much good to scare off a bobcat?
