Looks like I failed to get a weight pic of Kibito's raw fleece, it was about 7#.
I washed it, still had lanolin, and it went to 6.56#.
Mill washed it and final weight of 6#!!
VM came out of it...Guess she wasn't coated until she was 3mo and making the trip to Va from Cali. There will be zero VM in her yearling fleece, as I coated her as the shearer was letting her up!

Krillin fleece.
Krillin's lamb fleece is just as soft as the Jacob's! I need to keep more of his offspring to improve wool quality...I wonder if his yearling fleece will still be so soft...

Cheapo Dutch/hackle combs on Corriedale.
Gonna see how well this works out, already feels much easier on the wrists! If it's good, I'll do the rest like this. There's two fleeces that aren't processed to be spun yet, Kibito & Kris.

I picked out some as I went, but also went slower and was careful to just catch the ends.
This is the 3rd attempt. :)
I'm using hair pick combs to see if this is something I can do & like.

I wonder if just making tufs is easier or not, hmm.

Waste. People are saying they card this, but...:sick clean for stuffing or felting core, but I'm not going to waste time trying to save tidbits by carding it.

After the 5th, I stopped for the day. Apparently, it's called combed top and sliver!
Anywho, tried the core spinning. Need a larger hole in the metal thing and much larger flyer....
I first predrafted, it was too bulky otherwise.

Secuono, that wool is so beautiful! I don't know a thing about spinning so when I read your posts it's all unfamiliar language. I've looked a few things up so I could understand a little. You put a lot of effort and time into your sheep. Do you have a market for the wool, or is it for your own enjoyment and use?
I have an appreciation for the expense of woolen items, we wear a lot of merino wool base layers in the winter, and I have pure wool felt saddle pads, and a fleecy wool pad for my old gelding. None of that stuff is cheap, but it wears like iron and lasts for years when treated right.

I'm getting an education reading your thread. :)
