Hello,
We have had free range chickens and rabbits for a couple years now so I/We decided to get pigs, 1 male and 2 female, hoping they breed and we can have babies so I can eat dad.
My pigs are eating my roosters, 2 now, I think. Since I have been a backyardchickens member since we started, I figured I would reach here for some of my information about my pigs

Greetings and welcome to BYC Redonna! So glad you joined us. To my understanding, some pigs will eat a chicken if they can catch it, others seem to be OK with them and leave them alone. Never have heard if it's because they're lacking some minerals or maybe inadequate protein... Anyway, there's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. We do have some good pig people here. :) Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

Welcome!

Yeah if the pigs are even a tad hungry they will go for the chickens. At least with ours the first barrows we got loved to. You have to make it so the chickens cannot get to them. Because as much as it sucks they will just keep eating them.
