I know they deliver for WM...how, what, etc?????
You download an app & go through a somewhat in depth background check. Once approved, you open the app & hit Start. (Best to be sitting in the WM parking lot). You receive an 'offer' showing the delivery address ; you either accept or pass. The offers can be pre-shopped by a WM employee so you just pick up & deliver or can be a list that you go in & shop for, and then deliver.
The pay is determined by how much effort is required. Lowest pay for pickup & deliver. Highest for shop & deliver to an apartment building.
You CAN get batched orders with 1 pickup but multiple delivery sites, usually in the same neighborhood or very close.
Anyhow, you do the delivery & return to WM. Then get another offer & start over. In an area with fairly dense housing, you can make a LOT of deliveries in just a few hours.

Yeah... I'm one of those people who get super grouchy anytime the 'S' word comes up. I'm trying to get better about it. I read somewhere that you can hate snow all you want but you still get snow, so might as well enjoy it.
It is pretty.

I test started the generator Wed night. After a good bit of praying, it started. 🎉. I left it running while I filled everyone's water & just poked around in the barn. I'm going to test start it again when I go out to fill the gas cans in a little bit.
I was going to fill them last night but there were lines at all the stations. I'm hoping that everyone's at work now. But either way, at least I won't be on my way home from work & needing to pee. 😂
I'll probably stop by dollar general & grab a pack of TP, a can or two of tuna or something similar. Maybe an extra box of crackers. I stopped the other night & stocked up on a whole cart full of 'Dad approved' easy food on the chance that the power goes out & he and Isaac (his cat) have to move in for a few days. Soups, frozen banquet Salisbury steaks & turkey and gravy (all can heat in a crock pot), instant mashed potatoes, sandwich fixings, snack crackers. I think I'm more stressed about that scenario than I am the storm itself. All the critters have well over a week's worth of food.
I'll probably go ahead & drag the generator and a couple of plastic roof panels to cover it over to the house today too so I can avoid dragging it through snow/ice.

I was supposed to start Spark this morning but I decided it would likely just be a frustrating & confusing experience with the store being jammed with people & shelves emptying.

I found out yesterday that I have about 2 more weeks to complete my last certification in the Labs. I didn't realize they were waiting on ME to drive that process.. I thought that was the trainer's & supervisor's job. So I signed off on all the SOPs for all the tasks I've been doing independently for weeks & weeks (signing the SOP is what they consider 'becoming certified' since none of them can actually 'test' me 🤭) I'll have to wait on them to arrange to have the QC guy come verify my Final Inspection skills. Then sometime in mid Feb I go back to the Beamer. 🤷‍♀️
Rotating schedules & OT 🎉🎉.

I was trying to remember... didn't last Jan have a big weather event???? I'll look back at my other threads 🤔

IT'S A SNOW-MA-GEDON MIRACLE!!!!!!

My Dad just called and said "Hey, if it's OK with you, I'll just come in up tomorrow afternoon. That way we won't have to scramble around in the middle of it if the power goes out in the middle of the night. Oh, and I picked up a whole pulled pork dinner & some sandwich stuff to bring. Anything else I should gather up?"
😱
After all the times I've had to fight him to try & keep him safe and warm during these things..... 🥰
I gave him a short list of things to help his cat feel a little better. But other than that - he actually seems to be looking forward to coming up!
😁✊❤️
