January Freeze-a-thon

Just light snow so far, temp 24° but FRIGID, feels a lot colder. Forecast is still 8" or more of snow, getting heavy once the Low off the coast intensifies this afternoon. It will snow us in, as our road is never plowed. It's not a priority for the NCDOT, we're just working class stiffs here.

We're stocked up, will be okay unless we lose power.

My weather says our snow starts at "4:58" that exact time amuses me!! Anywho -- it'll be whatever comes. I'm ready as I'll get.....thinking I might tarp car & truck there's pros & cons. If we only get a couple inches, it'll help....6+ could be hard to deal.

Supposedly heavy stuff starting in an hour.

It has started to snow. Guess that "dry front" was a figment of forcasters imagination.....cause it's wet!!

The snow ramped up about 2pm, as forecast. We now have over 2" and it's coming down pretty steady.

It's piling up.

I shoveled the steps befote taking Caleb outside.

Hood of the car, so minimal drifting.

I'm happy I put down cardboard in front of the coop doors, it made shoveling easier.

Coop Deux, minimal snow inside so far.

After I checked for eggs (zero) and Caleb had a run around the backyard, there was about an inch of new snow on the steps I just shoveled!

At least it's light snow...

I've watched Ryan some. Mostly NC... I'm just above the line. We've had it dropping fast & heavy but not feeling it'll keep up very long.

Really heavy winds!! 35-40 mph and cold...single digits. Tonight reports say more crap Wed. I'm hoping just rain!!!

Love it... only because it's such a "novelty"... and fluffy like that is SOOO MUCH EASIER to deal with than what we got last week... Glad we didn't get any on top of the icy concrete like snow we have... but a foot of snow like that would be sooo nice here without the ice underneath...
