Chillin' with the herd
OK. Here's one for the books.
I thought one of my Nigi does weaned her babies at 5 weeks. She was never a doting Dam, never cuddled her babies, and was never concerned when they cried. Her kids eventually paired up with a dry yearling doe to sleep with and eat out of her feed bowl. Yesterday I caught the babies nursing off another Nubian Doe. I could not believe my eyes. The Nubian doeling would go in to nurse and then the Nigi baby would nurse the other teat.
It's like the rest of my herd is raising these babies. Have you ever seen anything like this?
