Yep! Had a good gathering, got to see relatives haven't seen in quite a while. Kid 3 was center of attention for a good bit, they enjoyed feeding her and trying to get her to roll over. Kids 1 + 2 refused to nap and started getting crazy towards the end of the gathering. They fell asleep on the way home and we were able to scoop them into bed and they stayed down the rest of the night.

The mini pumpkin pies were ok, but I made way too much and I think I'm going to have to toss the rest, there wasn't room in the fridge. Supposed to make mini pecan pies today for the gathering with husband's side of the family tomorrow.

Mom sent me a picture after we left, the kitchen had gotten mostly cleaned up but the turkey carcass was still on the counter. The dog got up and knocked it down and broke the platter. He's a good dog, the only negative we have about him is his food obsession.

If you have freezer space you can freeze your extra baked pies and rolls. I usually make 5 pumpkin pies and freeze a couple but this year I ran out of freezer space even though we removed a 22lb turkey from the freezer. I also do a "Weekend After Thanksgiving" marathon of Christmas decorating and baking. This year with no room in the freezer I have to wait till closer to Christmas to bake cookies.

That's a lot of pie! This was my first year making a pumpkin pie. Where I screwed up was not properly finishing the pumpkin puree to get the extra liquid out.

Our freezers are full right now, so it's hard finding space. The fridge freezer is also currently frosting everything, the gaskets are failing. I haven't been able to figure out where to get replacement gaskets, so we might have to get a new fridge.

Happy new year!

We got a new to us fridge in December. The handle for the freezer is broken but the gaskets work fine and its a newer model that beeps when left open. So far its working great.

Kid 3 is now 8 months old, she is just starting to crawl and this morning her first tooth is popping through, on bottom left.

We went outside and walked the property a little, checked on the orchard. I don't go down to the nut tree area much, but we walked down there too and one of the almond trees actually grew an almond! I showed hubby and he ate it before I got a picture. Maybe it'll grow more this year. Not sure if the walnut survived, most of the trees are dormant. We've had on off freezing temperatures at night, daytime usually in 50s-60s.

Babies are so much fun, then they turn into teenagers.......and we understand why some animals eat their young.

Every time I had a baby my sister would encourage me to sell the infant "Sell them now while they are cute. Nobody will want them when they grow older."
