Happy valentine's day!

Spent over an hour this morning in the orchard with kid 1 & kid 2. I pulled weeds around a tree and then covered with compost/mulch. I added some daffodil bulbs, should have planted them a month ago but at least they are in the ground now. Only got to 4 trees before the kids stopped listening to instructions and my back was starting to hurt so we went inside for lunch.

Hubby tested positive for strep on Friday, my throat started hurting on Sat but not as bad as last time we got strep. I gargled with warm salt water and that seems to have helped. We, the whole family, have been sick with a cold for probably 3 weeks now, just passing it back and forth.

I took all the kids to urgent care for testing, rapid test says we DON'T have strep. Kid 1 preschool requires 2 days non contagious, so at least he will be able to go back to school on Tuesday. Monday they have as a holiday so he will be with grandma.

Went to green acres yesterday and bought 3 blueberry plants, seed starting stuff, and a strawberry mint. It really smells like strawberries when you mess with the leaves. Kid 1 was very excited about the plant. Need to pot it up today.

So, today Wednesday, I get a phone call from urgent care that the strep culture for both boys is Positive. Kid 1 went back to school yesterday. So, now he's potentially infected his whole class. He can't go to school today, tomorrow, or Friday.

They didn't do a culture for me, so I have to go in again so I can get meds. MIL comes over to watch the kids so I can go in, and my rapid test is again negative. They at least are sending it out for culture, so I can wait 1-2 days possibly infecting others before I learn if I have it or not. Meanwhile I still feel sick and my throat hurts.

At least the kids have started their meds now, so they will finally feel better soon.

I recall going to the doctor for illness, and them starting me on antibiotics in case the culture came back positive, not waiting days.

Yeah. Makes me think maybe the lady didn't get a good enough sample? Or didn't do the rapid testing right? I dunno. I'm just so tired of being sick. My mom and I were talking - if its not strep, then what the heck do I have? Just a different cold over and over again?
