Larsen Poultry Ranch - homesteading journey

No, didn't have the right symptoms for mono that I'm aware of. I actually feel back to normal finally, but my milk production is still down. We had to buy formula to supplement. Kid 3 is now drinking 1-2 bottles a day formula because I'm not making enough milk. :hit With kid 1 + 2, had so much milk and had a huge stash in the freezer when they finally weaned.

Kid 3 is really good at army crawling, plus she's starting to pop up on her knees. I had to upgrade her to sleeping in the pack n play instead of the bassinet yesterday. I put her in the bassinet, left the room to put something in the sink, and heard her start crying the "pain/emergency" cry, ran back in, and she's holding onto the side of the bassinet up on her knees and stuck. She didn't know how to get back down and if she had pushed up more could have went over the side. Rescued her and snuggled until she calmed down again, then swapped out her bed. She is eating more big people foods, doesn't want any purees at all.

Still haven't resolved kid 1 issues. At school he's reportedly biting, hitting, kicking, running off and just not obeying in general. He was hitting and kicking at primary in church yesterday. Still refusing to fully potty train, we have to really get on him to go potty, and 5 minutes after he says he doesn't have to go, he has an accident.

Not sure if he's getting kicked out of the preschool or not. The director's email was very ambiguous and they rarely answer phone calls. I left a voicemail and replied to her email but no response yet. Feeling very frustrated. I don't want to find a different preschool until I know, but I feel like they are more concerned with CYA BS than actually helping teach my kid. I think they can try to bill us an extra month of we leave vs if they kick us out.

I feel like kid 2 is getting a little overlooked. He's still sweet and snuggly. Starting to talk more. It's absolutely adorable when he runs through the house yelling "are you?!" when searching for me or his monster truck. He was a binky boy, got him off the binky when he hurt his lip, now he has to have his toy monster truck everywhere he goes. It was missing overnight last week, he was quite upset until I convinced him his truck was on an adventure and would come back the next day, thank goodness we found it the next morning.

He's starting to potty train a little. He does better when dad works with him, I just don't have the patience for him taking 10-20 minutes before finally peeing. Kid 1 is competitive, so does better on days when kid 2 is successful on the potty.

My mom and aunt are visiting my uncle in Texas, they drove to the gulf side today and dipped their toes in the ocean. They did the River Walk yesterday. Not sure where they are going next but they are supposed to be back on Wednesday sometime.

The boat ride on the River walk is good and I hope they went to the Alamo.

Yes on trying to figure out what is going on with Kid #1, could you sit in his classroom in church?

That is what my hubby and I decided, that one of us is going to have to sit with him each time.

Kids have dentist appointment today, hopefully they cooperate and aren't bouncing off the walls. Kid 1 has all his teeth (1 chipped), kid 2 still growing the last set of baby molars, and kid 3 is working on her 4th tooth. I'm a little worried kid 3 lower teeth look crooked, and the two upper teeth aren't centered. We should know more this afternoon.

Kid 1 starts his new preschool on Monday, he is back to excited again. He keeps switching from excited to just wanting to stay home.

I finally had a normal feeling throat, and got whammied with mastitis on Monday. I'm on antibiotics now so I feel a ton better but having trouble with pumping enough milk.
The antibiotics they are giving you for the mastitis are probably clearing up the sore throat bug. Hot water showers, warm cloths on the area, nd gentle massage will help with milk flow. Once the milk flows freely, and the antibiotics kick in, the mastitis will clear up. I had it with DS1. Horrible.
I would also wonder what's going on in that classroom.
I would too. Something must be happening to cause the behavior. And since it happens in the classroom I would want to watch a class to see ehat is happening and how the teacher is acting.

I think probably something happening in the first preschool that was causing the problems. Separation anxiety is a symptom of problems. Of course, it can also be a sympton of a type of LD. DS3 had terrible separation anxiety in kindergarten. It eased up when we ran a carpool with one of his friends' parents. However, later in school he had trouble spelling. Turned out he couldn't remember the letters the sounds went to. He learned to read fine since he could identify the sounds when he saw the letters. He also never drew anything because he couldn't recall what the object would look like if he couldn't see it. We realized that the separation anxiety fit with that LD condition since once I was gone he couldn't remember my face. I gave him a photo and it helped. He eventually outgrew a lot of the problems. Never did learn to spell properly though.

Hopefully the new preschool will be successful. How old is he?

Kid 1 is 4 and a half at the end of this month.

He did very good at the dentist, at least while it was his turn, then he got too wiggly and wanted to get into everything. He actually did great when they did xrays, I wasn't expecting them to do xrays for him. The dentist said no cavities and no issues he could see from the chipped tooth.

Kid 3 did ok, she cried through her teeth being cleaned (all 3 of them lol), but at least it was quick. The dentist said she was should have her first 8 teeth out soon, we can see three out already and a 4th was starting.

Kid 2 had refused to nap, so fell asleep hard in the car on the way there. We had him go last to see if he would wake up by himself. We were able to wake him and he got his teeth cleaned but no xrays. He was not a happy camper. Apparently the iron supplements stain the teeth, but the dentist said he was able to get it off.

The dentist had a tv mounted on the ceiling above the exam chair, so the kids could watch a show while their teeth were worked on.
