Larsen Poultry Ranch - homesteading journey

I haven't checked on them today, I'm hoping the crazy weather didn't flatten them all. We had thunder storms that past 2 ish days, with off and on rain. Sometimes it was barely a sprinkle, then sudden downpour, then just clouds, then rain.the kids liked watching the lightning storm 2 nights ago.

I found some traps online but they can't be shipped to CA
Geeral rule for California - If it works they outlaw it!

Had some good stuff to keep rabbits from eating landscaping. It was made with mountain lion urine (don't ask how they collected tHAT!) and worked great. It was outlawed because PETA said it was "inhumane to frighten the rabbits" that were decimating my yard! Instead I had to send my teenage boys out at dusk with their high powered air rifles to kill the rabbits. I guess that was more "humane", it was certainly more permanent. LOL

Well, the hail shredded the iris blooms that were open, but the ones that hadn't opened yet seem mostly ok. There's still more that are growing blooms, including at least 3 of the new iris I bought this last year, I wasn't expecting any of those to bloom until next year!
