Larsen Poultry Ranch - homesteading journey

I found a 4 ft Mohave Green rattlesnake.
Mohave Greens are very aggressive rattlesnakes. Good thing it was already dead when DS saw it.

We were camping in Death Valley years ago and the park ranger said that Mohave Greens are the only rattlesnake that will outright attack you on purpose. He said he was checking campsites once and a Mohave Green chased him back to his truck. He was running full bore and after he got into the cab the snake still followed him and was striking at the truck tires! He said he drove away fast. They are nasty rattlesnakes. Most will let you withdraw quietly but not the Mohave Greens.

Beautiful. Mine are not happy. I need to split them.
All of mine need to be split, I'm surprised and really happy most are blooming. They are super crowded. Most of them have been in the same pots ignored since 2020. I think only 3 from that original group haven't shown signs of blooming.

One of the irises I got from my mom's house is supposed to be Indian Chief, so I bought one about 2 years ago so I could compare them and the darn thing hasn't bloomed since. Maybe next year it'll bloom.

More irises are blooming!

Kid 3 is 1 today!! She's been having trouble napping all day, hopefully she takes a good nap so she will be in a better mood. We are going out for dinner tonight.

She is a happy smiley kiddo. Almost walking but not quite there. She loves watching her big brothers play, soon she will be big enough to play with them too. Her hair is almost long enough for me to start trying hairstyles.

She is just a couple weeks younger than DGS7! Alexander turned 1 a coule weeks ago. He is not quite walking either. I remember when his oldest brother was 1 year his mother kept trying to get him walking. I wanted to tell her not to worry, he would learn before college!
