Hi I live in West Virginia and very much would like to learn about farming with horses. I am hoping someone on this forum will be able to direct me to someone in my area that may be able to help me. All suggestions greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

If you mean using them to pull farm equipment I would contact someone at your states Draft Horse and Mule association. Some farms offer things like driving/harnessing/etc lessons or training which would be helpful.

Are there any Amish in your area? You may be able to seek them out for assistance or if there are people that do historic village stuff, they may have some drafters or oxen and be able to get you started. For example, in the Detroit area there is Greenfield Village, a combination indoor/outdoor museum and they have a small farm on the grounds and do demos with draft horses and oxen pulling plows, threshing, etc... Are there any people that do logging with horses by you?
