Is it like a cat just give it to them and they will use it???

What substrate? Kitty litter??? It is outside, so would sand work??

Where to put it, does it matter, how tall or big a container???

No, not like a cat. Rabbits naturally choose a preferred corner to do their business. If you want it to go in a litter box, find out which corner and put the litter box there.
Different substrates can be used. Some use shavings, litter, newspaper, etc. I don't see why sand wouldn't work...?
There are corner litter boxes you can buy specifically for rabbits, otherwise, just shallow container should work. Using a big margarine container is common.
Put the box in the corner the bunny wants to use with some of the mess and your preferred substrate. The bunny should smell the mess and use the box and after a while will correlate the substrate/box with going to the bathroom.
Expect bunny berries in the rest of the cage as well, but the litter box will make it easier to keep the cage clean longer anyway.
Hope that helps :)

Thanks, it does. I was thinking it would be easier clean up if they had a "box" to go in.

Just another note - you want a shallow container. Though rabbits can jump (obviously!) it is better that they be able to just step in or out. And since they don't dig in the litter like a cat, high sides aren't needed, anyway.
