I just brought home a 3 month old buckling this weekend. He was doing great when I left doe work this morning, but when I got back this afternoon he was limping around, strongly favoring his left rear leg. I don't feel any lumps or hot spots, and there is no obvious problem with his hoof. I suspect that my oldest doe might have butted him a little too harshly sometime while I was away. He's such a sweet little fellow, it's breaking my heart to see him
limping about like this. Is there anything I can do for him?

If you have banamine or a vet that will give you a scrip for some, that will ease the pain and swelling (if there is any). You could also give aspirin for pain mitigation. I don't have exact dosage info but you can google it. Sounds like what you described happened or perhaps he was jumping around and might have strained something. Some goats just go out of their way to try and hurt themselves. Hope it's nothing and he's all better in a few days.
