Me too! He really is a neat lil guy. Been scouring the internet for care info. Still have to find a vet that will work on him just in case something happens. I want to know all I can about llamas, and care for him as he should be. Have seen so many conflicting things on feed though. Some say goat or sheep feed is ok, yet others say no. Same for horse sweet feed. He is eating hay and a little cracked corn out of a coffee can as I hold it. Have ordered llama feed.

Don't feed corn. Sheep feed would be better than goat. Llamas can't have copper like sheep. Giving him a llama feed is the best though.

Corn is a hot feed that is high in phosphorus. It can cause acidosis. Llamas and alpacas are prone to ulcers and corn can be the cause of those too.

I know it's a hot feed as I give a little to my horses and chickens on cold winter days. I will stop feeding it to him. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate your advice.
