Lucky you @NH homesteader !

I've given up on the "Alerts". I only use it to pop up the sign in window. If you were logged out by the system and hover your mouse pointer over the Alerts link, it will pop up the login window since you can't look at your alerts if you aren't logged on.

The only time I don't get alerts is if there are multiple posts on a watched thread, I only get an alert for the first one I haven't read. But I assumed that was purposeful. I've never had new posts that I have no notifications for.

Thats what i though until i went and looked at the watched threads page and saw all the threads i wasnt getting alerts for.

Is this still a problem for anyone but me? I think I miss more alerts than I get.

As a test, I've chanced the settings as discussed here: https://www.backyardherds.com/threa...-on-followed-threads.34462/page-2#post-454389

Let me know if this makes any difference.

Also, try leaving BYH and then clearing out your internet cache / history of files.

Also, try "marking as read" the entire forum:

Perhaps that is why I don't have this issue. I read the threads I want to read and mark as read the rest. Yeah I know I have OCD:hide
I am the same way with my email.

Maybe, I'll try the "mark as read" thing. I don't do that now.

I will try that. Hopefully I don't have to "mark as read" every time I visit as I often don't get it all read in the same visit.

Ya, you shouldn't have to do it every time (and not at all), but I'm wondering, as a test, if that will help clear things out.

Newbie, BYCer, here just learning the platform.

Find the alerts pretty useless,
similar to FB notification dropdown but much more info there,
so it actually is a useful tool.

No way I'd have it set to emails, that would make a mess of my inbox.
Would rather use the 'All Watched Threads'
(like the 'subscriptions list' on the now-old BYC)
but it doesn't work without refreshing.

Sorry just a vent/rant.
