I still haven't cleaned out the two back bedrooms. Lots of memories in there. I was going to make it a winter project but just have not done it yet. Those rooms are filled with stuff.
Take your time. You will do it when you are ready. You'll cry, laugh and what was THIS for? You can do a little at a time, stop if you need to, gather up your resolve and do some more.

We're still going through stuff, lots of items our DS is listing on eBay (Ron was a collector). It's been a slow process here, lack of motivation is real.

I'm building the largest, most luxurious house as possible for us so if I go first and if the wife wants she can sell the place and be set for life. Us combat vets don't die easy at the same I don't kid myself cause I know the stuff I was exposed to. Not just from stuff we did there, but stuff that was there.

Hey--its been 27 years now. Some days I'll be doing a mundane thing and a memory hits like a torpedo. Love never dies. @GLENMAR you are not alone here.🥰 We really do understand. You'll adapt. You'll learn. You'll endure. You'll remember :hugs it's ok. And I've got some "boxes" of stuff still. 🤫

Thanks everyone for making me feel better about grief. They say you can't know grief without first knowing love.
My partner was my one and only first true love. We always said if we had known each other as kids, we would have been playing in the creeks together and catching frogs. :) I can't think of the right word, but to realize that this grief will last the rest of my life...... I was a bit concerned. How will I go on...... but people do.

Ron and I knew each in high school but didn't date until he came home from Army basic and AIT. He'd borrow his dad's 12' boat and we'd go freshwater fishing on our dates. We married at 20, had 44 years together, majority of which was good, or better.

We were good friends, partners, and it made all the difference.
