Thank you for the suggestion. I can do that on Saturday. We're supposed to get severe weather today, things should be dried out by the weekend.

Oh, and I am getting a small check from Social Security as a new widow. So...I went shopping, ordered a Milwaukee jigsaw "open box" on eBay. I have other Milwaukee cordless tools, lots of batteries.

Blade recommendations, anyone?

A severe weather forecast was one reason I went outside and secured the panels last night:

We are getting the winds now, rain, and more severe thunderstorms coming... there have been some tornado warnings in the southwest that just expired... Worst rain for us 10-1, coming in now.
Very wet, branches down. Power was off for about an hour this morning, not sure if it was storm/wind related.

I needed a break. It's warming up, and I am not used to it. I get heat exhaustion easily, so I have learned to listen to my body. When I feel warm I go sit in the shade and drink lots of fluids.

So far today:

Stained both sides, kept adding coats as it dried. That panel was thirsty!

I decided to work on the door frame next.

First I checked my original hoop coop to refresh my memory.

Hanging strap used to attach the top of the door frame to the cattle panel, on the outside of the cattle panel.

Done. And level.

Close enough.

Next up are the sides of the door frame. On the current coop they're attached on the outside of the frame, but on this coop there's more of a gap between the end of the cattle panel hoop and the frame. I'll probably attach the sides to the inside of the frame.

Ooh. Nice breeze is suddenly picking up, and it's gotten cloudy. I may be able to continue the job shortly.
