We took the kids to AWANA last night at a local church. I know nothing about the program except the emphasis on memorizing scripture. We met several nice folks so that was great. The kids had a great time and would like to go back next week.
We've been in a weird place as far as church goes recently. We left a church we had been attending for years after my husband was attacked during a business meeting. Problem is, it's a small town. So many people are related and a lot of people know each other's business. Problem is, not many people know our side because we didn’t grow up here. After that, we went to a different church for about 3 months, but a relative of the people who attacked him is an elder there and was extremely hostile. My husband wouldn't be able to be involved in any men's groups or things without being put under extreme and unfair scrutiny so that's probably not going to work.
Tried a new smaller church this Sunday. It was nice but small. The pastor and I talked and he hasn't been there long. He is working on changing and growing things. Maybe it'll be a good fit. 🤷🏻‍♀️ we'll have to pray the Lord leads.
The snow is still here and heavy but is slowly melting.
DH built a large igloo with the kids and camped out there for a couple nights. They all had such a blast. They had a fire with marshmallows. I think they made some good memories. 🥰
Idk how many people look at my craft thread but I'll post this here since it's been a big part of my last couple days. I finally finished my killer whale project. It's now washed and dried. I'm looking for a mat and a frame for it, then i can display it. I'm very excited!

All I can say -- NOT very Christian like!! Doesn't sound like they're reading & following scripture. Hope the newest works out. :hugs:fl

Love your needlework!

I'm sorry about the church issues. Too many forget or ignore what Jesus taught. We ran into some issues, were unchurched for over 4 years, but about three years ago we landed in a very small church, with a very young but devoted pastor (37). The members treated Ron so kindly despite his dementia, and have been so supportive of my current situation.

You can't get a group of people together and there not be a disagreement of some sort, sooner or later-even in a church. This leads to people outside the church to say things like hypocrites, and that is unfortunate. Church squabbles can go too far, the elders and deacons of the church are supposed to stop such nonsense and work things out. I'm sorry that your husband was targeted in a squabble.

On a happier note, y'all are now in a better place.

The whole church drama was highly unfortunate. Not Christian at all. I'll confess to feeling about jaded about Christians and church in general. This was the kind of thing that could have turned someone's faith sour if they weren't deeply rooted. It was more than a "squabble". My husband pointed out some illegal things the church board was doing. They tried to figure out how to outsmart him and make him wrong somehow but they couldn't. They resorted to personally attacking his character and accused him of trying to take over the church. It was bizarre. I mean, looking back i guess it's not bizarre. Their control was threatened and that must be their playbook to keep control.
Good riddance.

Snow is finally melting. This next week is supposed to be very warm.
I took the older kids on a bike ride yesterday. We went 4.5 miles. It was such a nice day for it, almost 60°.
The animals are appreciating the nicer weather. The guineas have come outside and not flown straight into a tree, praise the Lord. 😂
I have a lamb I need to figure out what's wrong with. I've mentioned her before. She had a high-ish egg count and has since been dewormed a couple of times. She just hasn't put it on any weight. My other lambs have different statures but are solid. This one is spindly. She also has a couple of patches on her face and ears. She's skittish, so I haven't been able to catch her to examine them more closely. I'll be able to catch her if she's distracted with some grain. 🤔 I don't like to see my animals not doing well!
