On the high-ish worm count lamb, get her as well as possible and take her to auction. The ones that don't thrive are the ones you don't keep for the flock.
I'm not concerned about her long term since she's destined for our freezer. I just want her to start gaining weight!

She's got these circular marks on her face. Initially I thought she was getting poked from the sharp hay ends when eating from the feeder but they look so uniform. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The other lambs don't have spots like that, either. idk what to think except perhaps a mineral issue on top of the worm issue. I give them mineral weekly.
The spots on her face are a newer thing. They weren't there a couple weeks ago.

That looks almost like ringworm. I just read that sheep can get it too. If her immune system is weak, that can make her more susceptible to contracting it.

Ugh. When our animals get problems, why can't they get something that an easy one-and-done fix? 😂
I'll treat for ringworm and we'll see if it helps. I'm hoping it's not, because I don't see how the rest of the lambs with her wouldn't get it.
I kidnapped DH yesterday for a date. He was a good sport but I think I stressed him out a little. 🙈 His schedule is inconsistent so I told my friend I would let her know if I didn't need her to watch the kids if something came up with work. I didn't know he had a quote due yesterday by a realtor whose buyer wants work quoted on a house they're offering on. He worked his butt off for a couple hours and then we went out. We hit the bowling alley and got subs for lunch. He doesn't drink coffee but he brought me a coffee, too. We had a lot of fun. 🥰
Today we have a friend's birthday party for the girls to go to. Tomorrow I have a so called "Galentine's" party with some friends from various churches. Well shoot. I don't even know what I'm bringing to that for a snack. 😬

Ring worm is common in cattle...usually it is bigger patches on a cow. We take a curry comb, rough/clean off the skin a little, and then take iodine and cover the spots... usually takes 1 or sometimes 2 times and it goes.
Also, it is a fungus, and covering it with vaseline after scraping any crusty stuff with a curry comb works too. A fungus needs air, so you smother it.. Takes a few times with vaseline.

The past week has been busier than normal for us. We had more outside the house activities planned.
Friday night I took the girls to a birthday party. The birthday girl loves highland cows @GLENMAR

On Sunday we went to a chili cook off at church after my women's Bible study. DH and I ended up voting for the same chili. The one that won shouldn't have... at least, I didn't think it should have. It was a southwest chicken dish, like this:
It was good but I wouldn't call it a chili.
I got a contact for a local amish woman who sells raw milk. I gave her a call and it was half the price of what we're currently paying! Sign us up!! We drove over there yesterday and met her and picked some up. Bonus that her place is literally a 3 min drive.
We had a hike with the homeschool group yesterday. We went with the group on a paved walkway but it was short. DH and the kids wanted to go down a trail. 😂

My shoes still haven't dried out. 🙃
Tomorrow we have a playground date with a friend, a meeting with the pastor, plus Awana.
I am a social person but I have been feeling the fatigue yesterday of so many interactions.

Love the cupcakes. So cute. Highlands seem to be very popular. My Aunt sent me a stuffed animal looking one that is actually a heating pad, you can put it in the microwave.
