Hi all!

Just another newbie here. I myself am new to the "farm life", but have definitely been enjoying it. My fiance and I have been building up the farm he grew up on recently. Our current "herds" include New Zealand rabbits, pigs (meat & mini potbelly), and a young pair of Katahdin sheep. Eventually plan to add goats, and a couple horses. We also raise a variety of chicken & duck breeds, and plan to venture into quail soon. He's had a lot more experience with the animals than I, but I have enjoyed learning about and acquiring them to build the farm into something that provides not only for us, but for our area in the future.

Look forward to learning about, reading, and sharing experiences!

Looks like a good start for you and your fiance! Please feel free to browse around. If have questions, you can start a new thread and just ask away. I'm from upstate New York. We currently have a dog, 2 hens and 2 cows. We're thinking to add some pigs for meat later down the road. And I want some ducks.

Greetings and welcome to BYH from NE TX! So glad you joined us. Sounds like you and your future DH are off to a great start! There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me :old will never remember from this post's title & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
