Hi everyone!

We are a couple trying to start a backyard Homestead in Colorado. We have two Nigerian Dwarf does just over a year old, will be breeding sometime soon. Our goal is to have fresh milk for ourselves from our backyard. We also have chickens and ducks. Hoping to expand to pigs and maybe cows at some point. Looking forward to learning more about other people's backyard herds!

Welcome from NW Mississippi!...:frow
We have pygmy/boer cross goats, chickens, ducks, and cats on our 20 acres. Hopefully next yr we will be looking to expanding some, but have a few things to get completed before we can. There are plenty of helpful goat people here, so there is plenty of info in the existing Forums and Threads, along with all the other animals ya can think of to have. While ya are browsing and ya have a question, comment, or advice feel free to post away....and we all love pics, so don't hesitate to share those either. If you add your general location to your banner it will aid others in answering any question you may have, some problems that are faced can be locale specific and will save that question having to be asked each time. Again....:welcome

A big howdy and welcome from the Great Lone Star State! We're pleased as punch and glad you found your way here. Just about all of us have chickens and there is a growing group of duckies so you'll find lots of company.

Thanks for posting pictures of your girls, they are darling. We love all pictures, please and thank you.

Greetings from another NE Texan. I moved down here last fall from the front range in Colorado. Hope you'll make yourself at home here. There's a wealth of information available in the various forum threads. Browse around and jump in to the conversations when you feel ready :D

Wow! Pygmy/Boer is an interesting combination. We LOVE our ducks, they are just too funny. Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the welcome! Here's a photo of one of my favorite ducks, she's a Silver Appleyard named Blanche. If you really like pictures, we also do Instagram via beahappyhomestead
