We had 3 litters of pigs this week from our pastured pigs. I have been amazed by this experience, as we have always had our pigs farrow in a crate indoors. We have a total of 37 live pigs! Litter sizes of 11, 11, and 15 and these are first time moms. Altogether they had 44 babies! The first one, Bunny, decided to have hers in the barn with the other pigs and the goats, the other 2 had them outside on a hillside about 75 yards apart

We use 4 strands of high tensile electric fence. We don't need that much electric for the pigs, but they run in the field with cattle, goats, and a dog. The electric is great for keeping them all in!

The pigs look great! So adorable! It is nice to see them out "living" as opposed to a farrowing crate. I want to do pastured pigs but hubby is worried about keeping them in.

They look so adorable. I like the dogs just walking in between them keeping an eye out on em! After reading your post, all I could think was, " 44 pigs... " :ep
