Blecch! I am going to attempt to climb a ladder to clean off the fan blades which have grown beards due to the combination of ever present grease and dust. This house grosses me out. After 18 years of no stove hood and the entire house getting greasy because of it, we finally have a stove hood…on the front porch…where is has been for about 17 months. I imagine it will compete with the roofing for my shed which waited 15 years to be put up, then the shed finally collapsed from rot (the wood kept getting wet with no roof…) so he used my sheeting on a different project. Idk what he will eventually do with the stove hood, but am pretty sure it won’t benefit me. I would nag about it, but my priority right now is the bathroom. He opened some kind of gap somewhere, and we have sucked up almost 100 spiders in the past 10 days. Understand, I am phobic to the point I can’t even look at a picture of one without a visceral involuntary reaction. I can’t bathe, or even pee without extreme anxiety and the tub that was supposed to help me combat pain this winter remains unused, the most I can manage is a very quick lather and rinse, and get the h3ll out. The anxiety is unfathomable and it’s having a very detrimental effect on my health overall. I really wish God would get me out of here but clearly its not the plan.

My cut proof gloves should arrive today so I can safely use the scratch board with Gizmo to blunt her talons. Boone is slinking through the house moping because he ignored me 3 different times when I told him to leave Fen’s food alone so I slammed Fen’s kennel door on him.

It’s sourdough day today. Bil doesn’t like the sourdough because he can’t chew very well, so I make traditional yeast bread for him which is softer. I’ve combined fresh milled flour with bread flour because it rises better with only 50% of the bran. Randy won’t eat it (the twit) but his bro appreciates it so I will keep making it for him. I have to laugh because he cuts the widest slabs of bread I’ve ever seen anyone eat.

I think pain meds are starting to kick in so I will shave the ceiling fans before it wears off.

Got one fan done. Will need a couple days before I can tackle the other one. Two loaves of SD rising, 4 qts tallow cooling and spent most of the day scrubbing pots and pans. I realized my giant 24 qt soup pot and lid were missing. I found them in the ranch walk-in. No idea how long it was there or why, or what was in it but it took awhile and a bunch of barkeepers friend to clean it. Then there were all the pots and utensils from the tallow. At least its done. There should be enough to fill his french fryer now.
I ordered everything I could find on amazon to deal with those creatures that shall remain nameless.

The rest of the evening I shall dedicate to Mr Boone and Miss Gizmo

Is there any way to train Gizmo not to paw? I know she comes with her own set of idiosyncrasies, but she needs to stop doing this if you can get through to her.

I'm working on Caleb's pawing, saying "off" when he does it. He's getting it, slowly. Sometimes I anticipate the paw and give him a Mom Look. And he freezes.

Absolutely! I believe someone probably taught her “shake” (which I really dislike) and using her front feet is her default. She’s slowly unlearning. She counter surfs, gets in trash, paws at you, has a HORRIBLE high pitched bark and a persistent face licker.
I can’t imagine why people kept returning her…
