i know some of you also have Fibro as it seems to be epidemic. Mine didn’t used to bother me much, a little stiffer than usual, some low level chronic systemic pain, but now I am in agony. Even with all the wrecks and surgeries I’ve been through, Ive never experienced this level of unrelenting, excruciating torment, I don’t know how I can continue living in this much pain. It feels as though every muscle, tendon, fascia, joint is drowning in pain. I spent last night in tears, trying to stop Gizmo from touching or leaning against me. I Couldn’t breathe and just her touch was agony. She could not understand. I can’t get up. I can’t put pressure on my arms or feet this morning. My poor dogs are miserable with nothing to do but hang out

I’m on opiods but they don’t work on Fibro. Nothing I have found does. Not the pregabilin, not any of the myriad of meds they’ve prescribed. It’s neurological and does something to your nerves and the pain centers in your brain. It’s insidious and can be absolutely debilitating.
Thank God that today it’s beginning to ease up. I didn’t feel like I was going to make it

Ya' know when I read that I thought hmm wonder if that can aggravate the fibro - so I did a search and found...

Yes, opioids can aggravate fibromyalgia symptoms and may lead to increased pain and a higher risk of opioid use disorder. Chronic opioid use has been associated with worsening fibromyalgia symptoms and can complicate treatment for those with the condition.

I'm glad the pain is easing up. I can't even imagine. 🙁

I have a friend with Fibro. She went on the Keto diet and it greatly improved. Is that something you've ever tried? I was on Keto for two years and I felt so good, it improved my asthma (I never had an attack while on keto) and arthritis pain. It reduces inflammation. I'm considering going back on it, because of how good I felt. It is very restrictive, but the feel good results were amazing. It changed my whole knowledge of nutrition and made me aware of what we should or shouldn't consume. I still eat a fairly low inflammation diet.

There are also new studies coming out about glp1's improving fibro. Enough that it's something I would look into and consider.

Your post reminded me of the foods I avoid because they can increase inflammation:
  • Nightshade vegetables (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant)
  • Corn and corn syrup
  • Citrus (except pineapple)
If I cheat and eat white potatoes I get a sinus headache, congestion, and my joints ache.

Corn is the only one that seems to bother my joints. But I can get away with a little once in awhile, because the inflammation in my body is low, to non existent now.
