Peteyfoozer’s Journey (because journaling’s not enough)

Really good day today! It started out painful but it eased up and I was able to go out and rasp the edges off Mister’s feet as they are splitting. I had to order a rasp off of Amazon, so I sawed a ridge above his bad quarter crack and greased his feet. It’s hard for him because he’s old and stiff, but I had peppermint cookies for him and he’s pretty fond of those so he let me take care of his feet I use the shedded on him again and he enjoyed that and then I got myself back to the house. I made a couple dozen apple muffins and then I trained on the dogs for a little bit. They’re both learning back up. Boone is learning an army crawl gizmos learning to jump up on a little stool. They’re both doing well. Gizmo watched me while I made a big batch of homemade macaroni and cheese for tonight. Dishes are already done so all I have to do is cook some spam to go with it I know most people don’t like it, but I do. 😁
I also washed the rugs and mopped the bathroom floor.
Yeah, it was a really good day!!

I had a little 1/2 arab that was really filthy. I decided to clean him out because I knew he had a bean causing problems, so I took him out behind the barn. He did like your gelding and I was up to my elbow when he decided to start rocking…then I heard a gasp and a gaggle of young girls were standing with their jaws dropped open. I was mortified

I just sliced a Cranberry/Walnut Sourdough loaf I had made and out in the freezer. OMG It’s so good!!
Idk if this or the Jalapeno/Cheddar is my favorite, but I am not sure if I can ever eat just plain sourdough again 😳

I have 2 jalapeño/cheddar loaves in regular bread pans cold proofing in the refrigerator.
I cleaned and polished all the stove and fridge, baked egg shells and ground up for use in the garden and for the dogs, got thyme and rosemary out of the garden, I need to harvest and dehydrate a bunch of thyme and oregano as it’s way overgrown. So the thyme is stripped and I now have liver sliced up and ready for the other dehydrator as after several years, I took a closer look at the big toaster oven we have and found it also has a dehydrator ☺️
The chives are chopped up and in a little water in an ice cube tray in the freezer because that’s what Alexa said is best.
A few years ago Cody gifted me an Echo Show and I have to say, it’s one of the handiest things I ever had.
It plays music when I ask it to and at night if the ranch dogs are barking and bothering Randy, I can ask it to play Ocean Sounds so he can sleep, it’ll read my books for me, and I can ask any question and it’ll give me the answer. It’s like my kitchen Grok and I ask it stuff every single day from how to do a certain stitch on my sewing machine to recipes to the Weather… for pretty much anything! It actually has conversations with me, which is a little creepy, but I miss having someone to talk to because I’m alone all the time.

I had Randy move my big rosemary bush to one of my large horse troughs as I want to keep all of my kitchen garden in one spot. Now, I gotta keep Boone out of it. And I need to transplant some of the parsley that seeded onto the ground.

3 hours to rest before the pot roast is done. It’s been another good day. That’s three in a row. I haven’t had three in a row in years!
