Get a divorce, go qualify for HUD housing near your son, take Boone as your service dog, and make some new friends. Enormous upheaval and a lot of BS to deal with, would it be worth it?
All the glasswork stuff is packed. It filled a giant cooler. I really hope Jayden gives it a good home. She’s not related but is my first grandbaby. Her mama lived with us while her daddy did 3 tours in Iraq because there was nowhere to rent and I had extra bedrooms in my home. Her mama, Shari, is now my best daughter-friend-whatever. They had 2 more kids. Ryan, the youngest, is the sweetest young man on earth. At 16, he still hugs me and says “I love you, Granma” in front of all his friends . I don’t deserve him
This is him with his older sister, Abby, ready for their proms…
(both kids are champion wrestlers and Abby is an accomplished dancer as well)
They will be my first stop in California.
Then I will go see my son, in between his work shifts and show him how to use his canner.
I have a case of jars and extra lids.
I was going to being the sourdough starter to teach the “friends” in Tehachapi but as they all have no room for me and Fen, I cancelled them.
If I do well, I’m seriously considering a real road-trip if I can afford fuel, and work out issues with Boone. Fen is coming this trip but any other, Boone will be my sidekick
I think I will start planning just in case I really can do it. I need that incentive. Something to look forward to!
Welp. Trip is cancelled. Guess I will need to find someplace to store all the stuff I packed. Randy neglected to tell me that Shari and family are leaving for vacation tomorrow and won’t even BE there! Good thing I texted her this afternoon to ket her know when I would arrive.
I was so looking forward to a roadtrip with just Fen, but we have nowhere to go and while I could stay at my son’s he’s gone minimum of 8 hr a day. I can’t afford a room anywhere so I am stuck at home with the 2 ild men.
Just sh—t me now
Go to town & visit stores. Heck, if I didn't work, I'd sure be limited for socialization! Sometimes I just chat with customers for a few minutes . Some I see occasionally -- they visit store for just that, to socialize!! -- others it's a one time thing. So, once a week, you go to town for just visiting. . The gas is less $ than a therapy session! It's one reason I may never quit working -- people contact. It's a long drive, yes. So what?
Can you give sourdough lessons? Stained glass lessons? Sewing, gardening, preserving, elder horse care, or whatever lessons?? Paying or not that gives you people to interact with. There are weeks I don't leave the ranch - but my detection students come here - and in many cases there's a little chatting that happens. Would be more if it was just one on one and not a full day of lessons.
