Could you do one continuous run, start at the charger end, run all the way around, drop down to the next set of insulators and go back all the way to the charger side, etc. until you need a new roll, then splice it? I was taught the fewer splices the stronger the fence. We always used a small swinging walk through gate, with the one strand electric gate across that.
