Of course its christmas eve and I have nowhere to turn for any local help.
Potbelly pig, outdoor, alone has sudden changes. Eating and drinking ok. Deformed with panacur and ivermectin orally today. Breathing is heavier, not open mouth Breathing, no fever. Nothing obviously but seemed like possible pain? Slight whimper. Will get up but pretty lethargic. Was freezing/cold last 2.weeks but today in 60s so no weather concerns. Not sure what else to do? Getting some Gatorade. As I said dewormer today in case of parasites. Did listen to lungs/heart Nothing obviousl.
Please any advice. Beyond worried. ...thanks all and merry christmas

Okay, questions... How old is she? How big and heavy?
Why did you suspect worms all of a sudden? And why 2 at the same time? Did she show these symptoms before or after you wormed her? The panacur/fenbendazole will cause gastric discomfort in some animals... and if she is wormy, a double dose , using 2 wormers COULD cause her to have a sudden die off , of worms that could cause gastric problems and discomfort in the gut tract.
Does she limp or walk favoring any one leg or hip?
If your weather suddenly got warm like ours did, she may just be feeling the effects of the temp change. If she is exceptionally heavy... and I understand pot belly pigs are fat to start with.... she might be feeling the change in temps and the atmospheric pressure...
You said she is eating and drinking ok....temp fine, so I am not at all sure what to suggest.

He is about 8 and is not overweight. No limping. He was letting me rub his belly and I touched everywhere and no complaining. Nothing else abnormal. He seems a bit better today. Was laying in sun and enjoying a nice day. Yes we did have weather changes, we're in missouri. Now it's 70s but within days will be down to 18 so do worry about changes. He has a warm area with tons of hay and and has tons of run to roam. He hasn't been dewormed in a year or so, so thought may as well try and cover all bases.

Maybe it was just an off day... we all get them. I understand the worming after not doing so for a year, but be careful of hitting them with 2 drugs like that...
These crazy weather swings is hard on everyone and everything...

Sounds to me like you are doing everything right...

How long do they normally live? I only have experience with "regular" breeds of hogs... hamps, durocs, yorks, tams, chester whites, berks, blacks, spots.... so can only base my opinions on what I know from them. If a sow gets to 7-8, she is considered pretty old.... I did have a hamp that was over 10... mostly they get too big and heavy before they get that old as hogs never reach a "mature weight" like cattle or sheep... they continue to grow all their life... yes, they slow down with more years, but we had a duroc boar that weighed 905 when we finally sold him... and it was soo sad because he was a super dispositioned boar hog... he just got too big to breed without hurting the sows, and it was starting to affect his hind legs as they hold all that weight when mating. Have had several sows in the 500 lb range when they were sold...

Merry Christmas, and glad he seems to be feeling better...

Oh this guy is probably 125lb or.so. Definitely different than a hog. He eats fresh veggies daily and fruit maybe once weekly. He gets a skin supplement powder once daily. He was with another pig before, but they fought. And we had to keep them separate, so we just kept this guy and he has become more and more social with me, two years ago I couldn't have come near him or have touched him.Now i'm rubbing belly touching feet, cleaning his eyes. IlAll the things. he's super important to me.And I just worry, I looked at the weather. It's gonna go from 67 to 18 degree in one day. We'll throw a lot more straw out.I wish you would just let me put something on and he hates blankets or any materials, so just counting on the straw. He has an a frame hut kind of in a barn stall, so fairly protected. Still eating?Great. His poops look normal.I'll just keep doing what we're doing. I hope I get to keep him around for a lot longer!!
