Just got 1.23" of life giving rain! Should be a boon for the corn crop, beans, pastures, gardens, outlooks of my neighbors, and lawns. Once again, we have been blessed!!! Still have 40 acres of hay to put up. Glad I didn't cut it yesterday. Monday it will come down.

Congratulations! That is wonderful for your crops and grass.

We got some last Thursday, felt rather blessed also! Possibility
of more next week. Not sure it came in time for the corn, which
has been trying to get ears going. But if there are no ears, at
least it can be chopped for silage or baled for feed later.

With no water in the stalks, a lot of mid-States (KY) areas had too much in
nitrates when tested, to use the stunted cornstalks for feed or baling.

Sure hope the folks who need the water, get some. My pastures
are rather brown, with weeds being the only dark green spots.
Horses seem to be finding stuff to eat, not acting hungry or eating
the weeds. Holding off on the hay feeding. Hoping the rain we
got gives the grass a boost for some growth. No skinny horses
here!

Luckily, I rented another pasture that has not been used for 3 years, and the grass is lush, tall, and nice and green. Turned 40 pairs out into that yesterday after fixing fence for a couple days in 100+ degree heat and high humidity. Cows are mighty pleased, as the pasture they were in was mostly used up. This rain will help it to recover some by fall.
