My girl was acting strange last week. Did not come out of the barn to eat. After a day or two she was back to normal. Now it looks like she's filling up.
I'm guessing last week was a false preg. episode. Anyone ever milk a precocious udder? I don't want to cause her an issue if I should just leave it alone.
I would love to have fresh milk though

Good news. She’s filling more. Acting normal. I called my vet who said, it’s very possible it’s drinkable milk. I’ll milk her out tomorrow and check it out. Get her temp too.
Might be ordering cheese cultures. :weee It’s been a long time since I’ve had fresh cheese.

OMG--IS that what you have or gave away???
Yes. along with a metal stanchion. I still have some nice stainless steel pots, but not another double broiler pot like that one. It's ok that one was only used for making hard cheeses. I won't be doing that.

The girl used to be in 4-H, She bought some does from me then. Now she's married and has a new baby boy.

I have a press like that one! Expensive. But I got mine yrs ago. A guy had a cream separator on craigslist. Great price & I had been wanting one. After a talk found he had the press, etc. we made a deal for all his goat stuff. Ended up with some nice things, decent $$. 😊. I drove a couple hrs to get it but nice trip.
