I am not looking for pets but I am thinking roping and wrestling steers would have been handled enough they would go into alleys and chutes without too much trouble. Another reason is they would be finished growing and only need a maintenance ration. Whether Corriente or Mexixan stock I figure they would be good foragers and being lighter would require less forage. Also, I like the idea of giving a couple of steers an easy retirement from a year or two of hard knocks. After they have finished their rodeo careers I expect they would be less expensive. I am not a real fan of the horns but I must admit I think rodeo steers would look more natural in the pasture than a beef or dairy breed. I am a bit of a romantic and a history buff (longhorns have way too much horn for me though).
