Ron had a hernia that wasn't discovered until he was in the middle of gall bladder surgery (removal). The surgeon came out and let me know, said it was fixed as part of the gallbladder surgery, simple piece of mesh was all. Maybe your surgery would also be simple, but the lifting restrictions are not to be ignored!

Downloaded the paperwork to fill out for the change in insurance to PPO. Then the ork to find a good doctor in driving distance. :hit

DH has pneumonia now too. He is on antibiotics. His pneumonia is ore dangerus because of the previous Covid damage to his lungs. He is feeling a lot better and is not coughing as much now that is is on antibiotics. Kept me up til 3 am two nights in a row with coughing but refused cough medswhen offered. UNTIL I was just dropping off when he decided he needed some. Both of us are stilll weak but feeling well enough to get up in the morning so on the mend. :)

Another 3 ewes covered in last 2 days by Lewis Junior. None of the ewes in with Rommel have remarked so pretty sure I will have October lambs. Some of these ewes with Junior now are ewes I want replacement ewe lambs out of. :fl DS1 and I have been making plans where to keep ewe lambs separated to avoid parasite infection. The pretty ewe lamb I bought at Duncan had a bad case of bottle jaw. The last 2 lambs with bottle jaw died within a day or so. She hung on and we wormed her with Cydectinm, Privermectin and Safeguard (fenbendazole). The Safeguard seemed to do the trick. TSC was out of injetable iron but I have to order some syringes and tupping crayons from Valley Vet and they have the iron so will order it shipped. I have my Texas AG no tax registered with them so all good.

Having the ewes out in the 2 new pastures is working well. Don't have to bring anyone in at night or feed anyone, just fresh water every day. Scrubbed out the troughs and refilled yesterday. (Tip: Use a toilet brush to scrub out water tubs and feeders.)

You need to rest. Is there anyone who can help?

We are doing a lot better. A little tired still, but the coughig has slowed down although DH's cough is more productive. We are mostly taking it easy.

Since we have the sheep in two paddocks now, both with some sort of shelter, all I do is make sure that their water is full. I check butts for purple marks from Junior's marking crayon, and not them on the calendar. 5 marked as of yesterday. The horses have water plus both ponds available to drink. I check and fill the rams' water daily.

DH had 2 water troughs near one of the frost free well fed hoses. Another two troughs required the hse to be dragged 100 feet, the recoiled so the dogs wouldn't "kill" the giant "snake". The other troughs for the horses were another 50 feet further out. Yesterday I dumped and moved the second set of sheep troughs over to the side of their paddock next to the dividing fence where the first set of 2 troughs are. These 4 troughs can now be filed by one hose from one well spigot. Much less work. Then I emptied and dragged the 2 horse troughs over to another well spigot. Scrubbed them al out before fillig them. Job done.

Our tomatoes are producing but not with very good tomatoes. I think the soil needs more improvement. The garden where I had such wonderful tomatoes and veggies was almost half rabbit poop by the time we sold that house. My better Boy tomatoes weighed almost a pound each! Those tomatoes are more the size of a billiard ball. I also need to do something about the watering system since they are cracking which means they are not getting enough water on a regular basis.

DD2, DSIL2, and the girls came over today. DD2 said they would come help DH to pull goat weed. and they would arrive early in the morning. At 10:30 she called to say that they had to finish church. An hour later she called to tell us that DSIL2 was doing his laundry and needed to finish. I spent the morning thawing a chicken, stuffing it, making potatoes au gratin, for dinner, including brownies which I planned to serve with mint chocolate chip ice cream (not Blue Bell). Around 2:00 they showed up. They went out to help pull goat weed, and I said I would put the chicken in for supper at 5 pm. (Annabel is autistic and gets very fussy if she doesn't eat on time.) DD2 said to hold dinner off longer since on the way to our house they had stopped in Sulphur Springs for hamburgers at Braums. (They brought the last 3 burgers to us.) Braums has a special of 10 burgers really cheap.

During the afternoon I watched Annabel and Maysie. They were ok for a while outside. Annabel loves her sand box. Annabel found the tomato bushes and starting picking the green tomatoes and throwing them around the yard. I caught her the first time, gathered up the 2 tomatoes and scolded her. A bit later I noticed that Annabel was not at her andbox. She was picking lots of green tomatoes. When she saw me looking at her she tried to hide them in the doghouse. When I caught her she tried crawling inside with them to avoid another scolding.
PXL_20250706_231015352.MP.jpg I am going to have to learn to make green tomato pie or fried green tomatoes.

Annabel began to get fussy and I served the children their dinner which they hardly ate. At 6:30 I announced the adults needed to have dinner. DD1 was still pulling GW and did not want to stop. DSIL2 said he had 3 burgers at Braums at 1:30 and wasn't hungry, but he stopped working and came in with DH. With DH and DSIL outside I sent the girls back outside. Annabel started for the toatoes again whie her father shouted at her. I finally came back inside.

At 8:00 DD1 stopped pulling GW and came inside. For dinner? No they decided to go fishing in the pond. Dinner is cold and congealed on the stove.

No more nice Sunday dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's! Really annoyed.
