SageHill Ranch Journal

This is what a rain gauge would be good for at my house, only nobody local would buy it. I'm sure I see some dust in it...lol

More weed whacking today.

and today - almost to the crest of that hill - yay.

Lots more to do. Between getting slammed in the knee by a sheep (thanks to someone's border collie) and
sorting lambs to wean (quick grab over the panel - ribs bruised) there have been a few weeks of down time.
Getting back at it - feels pretty good. Though the little rain we've had is turning the previously whacked areas
...........................<cough cough> green . If we get some really cool mornings I might have to try and get the sheep there.

Very impressive! That is a lot of weed whacking.

Gotta brag a little ---
For the last few weeks DH has had a project. He bought a backpack vacuum (no - not for me! ) and has been getting the dust out of the barn. It was worse than really thick 1/4 inch??? More?? And at whatever thickness it wasn't the kind of dust that wipes off - more the scrape off type. He's almost done (or maybe he is done?) -- but it looks like a new barn inside.

On other news - for the last five nights we've had an overnighter or maybe someone taking up a comfy and safe bed time spot in the greenhouse. He (or she) is always rearranging the pots (thank goodness the pots are plastic) off of the top shelf and down to the floor. Try as I might, I can not see the visitor when I close up, and not in the morning when I open up. But if I'm opening one end there's quite a racket behind me - yeah startles me even.
I may need to rename the greenhouse to the Roadhouse Inn !!!:lol:

Dream barn!! :love :love :love Roadrunner! He will help keep snakes away.
Not really complaining about him :) I think he's a youngster from last year. Though - he wasn't in the greenhouse this morning. I'm thinking he comes through the roof vents - it was cooler yesterday afternoon and they weren't open (they are self opening and closing based on heat). We've got quite a few of them - they're really cool birds. Right up there with the California Quail (I call the Dr Seuss bird - with the deelybopper on top of their heads) - we've got a bunch/bevy of them as well.
