Hi all,

Just saw this on one of my Nigerian Dwarf doelings this morning. I don't recall seeing it yesterday ( but might have missed it, it was a busy day) nor the last few days. She is one of our most friendly girls as she grew up a bottle baby in the house with her sister so we would have noticed. Out of the herd of 15, no one else has anything similar. They were out in the woods yesterday so I was thinking it could possibly be an injury. But when trying to reasearch other possibilities of bots or parasites came up and I got worried!

I've included pictures and it is in the same spot on both sides, seemingly through the ear.

Wondering what it could be and possible treatment? Going to wash it with antiseptic skin was (chlorhexidine gluconate) as a first step and to try and see what is going on.

Thanks for any insight!

It actually looks like proud flesh to me... It goes all the way thru? That makes me wonder if a puncture wound. On top side of ear, some dried matter near...is that dried drainage drainage? If you wipe the pink pile, does it give, ooze, bleed?

Thinking injury, festered, popped the pus, now...?
