If you can, get the goat to the vet and have a fecal done. Hopefully there is a large animal vet in your area that knows goats and can help you.

Good luck with your goat.

Someone recommended that I give her pepto bismol. What do you think?

You really only want to use that if you know what is wrong with her. Pepto only treats the symptom of diarrhea. There is an underlying problem and it won't treat that. If you can go to Tractor Supply, I would get Probios (80g tube) and give her some probios. I don't know what the dose is for goats but I would give her 5g once a day.

I'm assuming you are bottle feeding her. Did you change her milk? Did you change the amount of milk given per bottle? Does she have any buddies? I'm guessing she is very stressed out from being taken away from her home. Unfortunately, human companions don't make up for another goat companion. My guess is her problems are probably stress related but at only 3 weeks old, she could go quick. Your best bet would be to take her to a vet and have a vet thoroughly examine her and recommend any treatments such as wormers, probiotics and any anti-diarrhea meds.

Hopefully someone with more goat experience than me can also give you some advice.

Karen is right on the money. It could be anything - from stress from the move, to change in her bottle (even new tap water in a powdered mix can throw it off), to cocci.

Please do not use a product like Pepto to stop the scouring!

I would give Probios today, and if she were here, I would start cocci prevention right away. Three weeks of age is when you do this as a rule, anyway, so go ahead and start it now, which will rule that problem out.

I agree with Kate and Karen...had goats for years and they can be tricky...I dont use pepto for anything but humans... Need a fecal done to know what to treat for.
