I heard a commotion last night coming from the front field night pen. Because I have 30 sheep in there plus
@Margali ’s 10 ewes in their pen, I’ve been putting Sheba over there at night, leaving Buford to guard the middle field.
It was storming and pouring down rain. I think I was asleep or maybe almost asleep, in a dull stupor, but my brain said GET UP NOW! I ran out on the front porch wearing a flashlight, to discover there were no predators attacking. Nope. Miss High and Mighty Queen Sheba had a problem sharing the shelter with the peons. The shelter is 4 cow panels long, even has a new tarp over it. Room for all, maybe a little squeezed, but it’s storming out there! Sheba was barking, running the ewes out of HER Cow Panel Palace. Every. Single. One.
Sigh….. go back to bed.
I put Sheba back in the middle field this morning, she and Buford took off to go run the field. Meanwhile back at Field #1, the ewes were getting up.
I let them out on the field. They were wet, muttering bad things about Sheba, softly so she wouldn’t hear them and come back to show them who is the Queen. It dang sure ain’t them!
Back over in Field #2, Sheba and Buford were convinced that “SOMETHING” trespassed on or around the downed tree. Or maybe Miss Twinkle Toes just didn’t want her feet getting wet.
Sheba rules. Don’t believe me? Come hang out on my front porch on a stormy night. I recommend wearing more than a flashlight.
