We have 3 Katahdin/Dorper mixes. We went to the Co-Op to buy feed as winter is coming, and we would like to know if Goat Grower would harm them. TIA

Sheep need four to eight ppm of copper in the diet, depending on breed and our sheep mineral has trace amounts of copper. We get an "All Stock" feed when our sheep are in an area that our two calves are in that that has no added copper. Other than that, all of the other animal feeds that we checked labels on had a considerable amount.

The link has probably more than you want to know and is dated (but still accurate)

I don't know about yours but our CO-OP will exchange feed if it hasn't been too long.

The copper accumulates in their liver and when it finally gets to be too much, they die. So if you want to kill your sheep, proceed. If you want to keep them around, choose an all stock with no copper or a proper sheep feed.
