VERY Interesting about the "goat soup".... never heard of that.....
I should have sounded it out (mallasis) ... I have had a bad cold/flu bug and brain did not function....

Goats and sheep do not do well with getting fluids if they are not warm to start with.... they do not warm from the inside like a calf does for some reason....

Cold mouth is NOT good...low body temp. Warm water, not cold when he drinks the molasses water. Cocci is prevalent in young ones & not always with diarrhea. Warm towels yes, heat lamp yes. Food digestion poor/compromised with cold body. Where are you located? Thinking weather you're facing to keep him warm...he is not going to eat when cold.

No vets? Sounds like he may not have gotten enough nourishment while nursing, possible malnutrition issues now. What stores are near for you to obtain any feed/medical supplies?

Obviously we cannot diagnose. But helping with comfort as much as possible.

I agree with the above information. Coccidiosis and/or parasites would be my first thought. As was said - Coccidiosis does not always present with diarrhea. A vet would be your best bet for this guy. At the very least have a fecal analysis done so that you know what you are dealing with.

Is it possible to bring him in the house where it may be warmer? I see the heat lamp, but thinking the warmer air in the house may help as well and be less drafty than in a barn. Perhaps use a large dog crate or box?
