Do you want to keep the babies as pets or sell them as pets? No problem, then. You may have trouble selling them, depending on your area. Also bear in mind that you will have to be prepared for disbudding (getting rid of those pesky horns when the baby is a few days old) and castrating the boys by about 7-8 weeks because they can breed their mothers and sisters by that age. Goats often have twins and triplets, so keep these costs in mind when deciding to breed.

Baby goats are a lot of fun, though!

It is a personal choice....if you need to sell them, the pet goats tend to sell better without horns in many areas.

Welcome! :frow

Disbudding is a personal choice. If you want your goats to have horns..then dont. Some people prefer it becuase it can be dangerous when they get caught in fencing and fighting can be a problem with horns. So thats up to you...But if you are gonna do it within the first week for sure!

And if your only breeding for your own pets. Than it dos'nt matter about the buck. As long as he's healthy..that what I would worry about. Was he checked for disease? Do you know??? Thats what I would concern myself with. Just make sure he dos'nt have anything and vacinations are up to date!!

Good luck..have fun!! Hope it works out for you!
