I'm putting in an order for a few things from Jeffers and was wondering if I should get a couple doggie sweaters for babies on the way? Is that crazy? I feel like it is. We had a very mild winter, but suddenly it's freezing cold, and I know this can last into March, when the babies are due. Does anyone here put sweaters on new kids, even if they are dam raised? Should I get a couple just in case? If so, what size?

i put sweaters on my new kids born earlyer this month. i made them from sweatshirt sleeves. cutting to proper length for them and then putting two holes for legs and if it is a boy a v shaped slit for the peepee. cheap and a great way to get rid of those sweaters and sweatshirts you never wear.

That's a good idea. I had thought about using some fleece I had but it may be easier to use a sweater, and maybe warmer?

@mama24, nah, it's not crazy. I'll feel better knowing they're warm and not be worrying about it. I have a heat lamp on out there on mine but every once in a while they'll be away from the light and be shivering just a little. I haven't seen on any threads, yet, where anyone has ordered sweaters, they usually make them to fit....If it were me I would wait, especially if you can make some. It'll save you money if you can make some and, also, once they arrive you'll know for sure whether or not you'll need them and if so you can make them to fit. :)
